At New Balance in Changi City Point, Energycon Engineering installed a reliable, high-clarity background music system that cuts through mall ambient noise — ten ceiling speakers delivering uniform coverage across the sales floor, run entirely by the store team from a built-in USB media player.
The challenge
A mall sales floor is a noisy environment: the brief was background music with enough clarity to cut through ambient noise, distributed evenly across the floor, with a minimal hardware footprint and no dependence on external streaming services or IT infrastructure.

How it was engineered
The system runs as a high-efficiency 100V line: ten Bosch ceiling speakers are spaced so their coverage zones overlap, eliminating dead spots and letting the store hold a balanced, comfortable level everywhere rather than blasting from a few points.
A 250W amplifier with an integrated USB media player makes the system fully standalone — the New Balance team manages its own playlists with no subscriptions, no network dependency, and nothing to configure.
A crisp, energetic in-store atmosphere aligned with the brand — uniform coverage across the sales floor on a system the store staff run themselves.
