Naval Base Secondary School — Indoor Sports Hall Audio Upgrade
Indoor Sports Hall — assemblies & sports · Completed June 2026 · Singapore
Energycon Engineering upgraded the audio system at Naval Base Secondary School’s indoor sports hall, replacing an outdated, muffled setup with a crystal-clear, plug-and-play system delivering powerful, consistent coverage for assemblies and sporting events.
The challenge
Like most school sports halls, the venue doubles as the assembly space — which means speech intelligibility matters as much as volume. The legacy system produced sound, but not clarity: announcements blurred together by the time they reached the far end of the hall.
The school needed a dependable replacement that its own staff could run for daily assemblies, PE lessons and inter-school events, installed without disrupting the school calendar.
The system we installed
| Role | Equipment |
|---|---|
| Loudspeakers | 12" passive loudspeakers (Yamaha) |
| Amplification | Commercial power amplifier |
| Mixing console | Compact analogue mixer |
How it was engineered
The system follows the same engineering approach we use across Singapore school halls: wall-mounted 12-inch passive Yamaha loudspeakers positioned for even coverage of the assembly area, a commercial power amplifier with proper headroom, and a compact analogue mixer that keeps operation to “switch on and speak”.
Consistent coverage — not maximum volume — was the design target. A hall where every student hears the same level is one where announcements are made once, not repeated.
A vastly improved, powerful audio experience tailored to the school’s dynamic environment — clear from the first row to the back wall.
